Doug and Pat compare Gibson Les Paul Specials.mov

November 29th, 2012

Doug and Pat return with the second "Doug and Pat Show" to play and discuss old and new Gibson Les Paul Special guitars. Candid patter about the mysteries of these instruments as well as any other thing that pops into their heads. The guitars are plugged straight into a vintage Vox amp with no effects, EQ or boxes. Were they better in the 50's? How do they stack up? Also, introducing Pat's "Billy Gibbons" pipe to the cast. Talk among yourselves, the tea is almost ready.

1958 and 1960 Gibson Les Paul vs Heritage H150 with WCR "Crossroads" shootout.

November 20th, 2012

Wouldn't it be great if you could take a couple of the most iconic and valuable electric guitars ever made to your house, plug them into your amp and compare them to your own guitar with those boutique pickups you paid so much for? Fat chance. But that's exactly what Doug and Pat are doing as we drop in on the first installment of the "Doug and Pat Show" comparing classic PAF equipped Gibson Les Paul guitars against a newer Heritage H150 with WCR "Crossroads" pickups (and 250K pots). They use a vintage Vox amp and a newer Marshall amp, no pedals, no effects, just straight into the amplifier. The microphone is an AT 4040 20 inches from the cabinets, no EQ. Apples to apples. Check it out then talk among yourselves. See all the shows and more at our web site: thedougandpatshow.com. Get on it.
